US Futures Flat After Positive Session

US stock futures were little changed on Thursday as investors look toward the end of a strong year for equities. In regular trading on Wednesday, the Dow rose 0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite edged up 0.16%. The S&P 500 also gained 0.14%, inching closer to record levels. Eight out of the 11 S&P sectors finished higher, led by real estate, healthcare and consumer staples. Expectations that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates next year continued to drive equities higher. In corporate news, Bit Digital, a US-based bitcoin miner, saw its shares rise by 18.6% as it plans to double its mining operating fleet by 2024. Coherus BioSciences also saw a significant increase of 23.4% after receiving US FDA approval for its infection-fighting treatment’s drug delivery device. Looking ahead, the Dow and S&P 500 are poised to finish the year up more than 13% and 24%, respectively, while the Nasdaq Composite rallied 44.3% so far this year.
