US Futures Rise, Inflation Eyed

Stock futures in the US were mostly higher on Thursday, with contracts on the S&P 500 adding about 0.2%, the Nasdaq 100 gaining 0.4% and the Dow Jones up nearly 10 points, with traders bracing for the CPI report. Investors were also welcoming the US SEC approval for exchange-traded funds tracking Bitcoin, with crypto-related shares rising in premarket trading, namely Coinbase (+5.1%). Citigroup on the other hand, was down nearly 1.4% in premarket hours after saying it will take more than $3 billion in one-time reserves and expenses as part of fourth quarter results, which are due to be released tomorrow as the earnings season kicks off.
